Suicide is not an answer …..it only raises more questions……
As I opened the City supplement of the Newspaper the headline caught my eye “Suicide by a 14 year old girl”; another innocent life lost. Loss of life for any reason always pains. Suicide, specially by the youth/ students, is increasing every year. As per available statistics one students commits suicide in India every one hour; this is alarming. This trend of the youth ending life through suicides needs to be arrested. Efforts are required at all levels, specially in the schools and homes. It’s the proactive actions by the triad of parents, children and the teacher which will go a long way in reducing the suicides.

Ask…Do not just assume….
I remember, quite a few years back, I was on a trek with a group comprising of few colleagues and a senior of ours. I and the senior colleague were the only two, in that group who had a general idea of the area we were in (at least I thought so). It was early evening and we had to hit our destination before sunset. At a particular junction the senior who was leading the group took a wrong track leading top a ridge line which was actually leading away from our destination. I had an idea that he was going wrong but did not ask thinking since he was senior and had been in that area earlier, knew better.
Do not be in a hurry to overtake….
Many of us are very impatient on road, overtaking at will in a hurry to reach the destination. Moment we see a vehicle overtaking ours, the blood boils and the foot automatically presses the accelerator to give a befitting response (or should I say reaction!!).
Love your roots…..you stand because of them….
Looks matter but not as much as the base, the roots, the foundation. The trees draw their strength from the roots as the buildings from the foundation they stand on.
